A decorative collection of Antiquarian Italian books
The present group of books feature full leather bindings of consistent tone and quality. Their contents are commensurate with their age, and include a 1692 second edition of Cicceide Legitima by the poet Lazzarelli Giovan Francesco, published by Claudio Riud Senza Data in Paris. This work is one of the more successful examples of 17th century satirical poetry and parody. Also included is an 1864 edition of Giacomo Leopardi’s prose, one of the most renown Italian poets of the 19th century. Two 18th century volumes of the Florentine Almanac representing the years 1780 and 1781 are also included.
